Which Qualifications do you offer?
Our recognised qualification is VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust) one of the largest awarding body in the UK for NVQs in Beauty Therapy. VTCT has been established for over 40 years and have approved us as an assessment centre for their qualifications. You can study single beauty NVQ units or take the full Level 2 and 3 route in Beauty Therapy. The certificate will enable you to gain a valid insurance in order for you to work competently within the industry.
How long does it take to get my NVQ qualification?
This depends on the individual student and the courses she/he is taking. If you are on the fast track NVQ course route you will be able to have your certificate within the 15 weeks from the start of you course providing you follow your all guidelines.
What work will I have to do for NVQ?
Case studies: You will need to practice and give treatment to a range of clients at home. Each client treatment should be recorded and supported by photographic evidence.
Essential knowledge: We will give you set questions for you to complete at home in your own time each week. This needs to be completed before attending each class and some of this will go into your portfolio.
Assessments: At the end of each module you will return to the academy and be tested on your theory as well as practical. You will also be asked to bring a model to demonstrate your practical skills (Preparing room, client assessment, carry out treatment and aftercare.) You will also complete a test paper which will include labelling some anatomy diagrams.
Portfolio: We will give you full support, guidance and clear instructions on how to build your portfolio.
I have special needs can they be accommodated at my assessment?
Naturally we would recommend for you to discuss your needs with us and we will do our utmost best to help you gain your qualification.
With the internal diploma would I be able to get insurance?
Yes after completing your course successfully. All our internal diplomas are insurable and accredited by Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists.
Do I need to purchase kits?
You will require kits to practice at home therefore advisable to purchase. All products are provided for training purposes.
What happens if I have to cancel or postpone my course?
Deposits and course payments are non refundable once paid. In the event of a genuine reason providing proof has been provided a transfer to a later date may be considered subject to availability.
What should I wear to the course?
A salon uniform (preferably plain white top and trousers should be worn at all times with hair tied back and flat sensible shoes.
